su una dorsale nel frastagliato paesaggio collinare dell\u2019Appenzell, ha sempre richiesto una forma di insediamento compatta. A partire dal XVII secolo il villaggio raggiunse la prosperit\u00e0 grazie alla dinastia commerciale degli Zellweger. I vicoli stretti e il centro storico compatto del villaggio fanno quasi dimenticare di essere in Svizzera. In queste condizioni una casa nuova in un piccolo villaggio viene subito notata \u2013 soprattutto quando sostituisce una casa contadina bruciata in un\u2019area classificata come \u201cinsediamento da proteggere di importanza nazionale\u201d. La Haus am Schopfacker nasce dalla tradizione di un ordinamento storico che caratterizza molte citt\u00e0 dell\u2019Appenzell.
